Ukraine accused Russia of buying Starlink equipment from Arab countries 0

On February 13, the General Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine (GUR) released a recording that they said showed two Russian soldiers discussing the purchase of Starlink equipment from Arab suppliers for about 200,000 rubles (

Previously, GUR spokesman Andriy Yusov accused Moscow of buying Starlink terminals from `third countries`, but did not specify.

However, the Kremlin said the Starlink system is neither certified for use in Russia nor officially supplied to Russia and therefore cannot be used.

Billionaire Elon Musk, owner of SpaceX, also confirmed that `no Starlink system has been sold directly or indirectly to Russia`.

Meanwhile, Pravda cited information from the website Vazhnie Istorii saying that a number of reporters impersonating Russian forces participating in a special military campaign in Ukraine spoke with three private Starlink traders in Russia.

Starlink is a satellite network project revolving around constellations of the SpaceX company founded by American billionaire Elon Musk, providing Internet connections globally, especially serving people in the most remote places on Earth.

Since the Russia-Ukraine conflict broke out in February 2022, SpaceX has provided more than 20,000 Starlink satellite internet connection devices to Ukraine.
